What You Need to Know about Travel to Morocco Post COVID-19

Marrakesh Menara Airport

Moroccan authorities announced starting June 15 that travelers will have access, under certain conditions, to the Kingdom of Morocco.  Read on to find out what steps to take before arriving in Morocco, how to ensure a safe visit, and ways to best prepare for your trip!

I’ve never been more excited about the opportunity to travel to Morocco even during the hottest time of year for a visit!

What are the steps you need to take before traveling to Morocco

Included in the announcement of the borders opening to tourists, Morocco has put together a classification of countries into List A and List B. Tourists will be required to meet the items stated for each list in order to enter the country. These have been adopted as a response to the Ministry of Health’s recommendations.

Tourists coming from List A (like the United States and Canada) may enter the country, if they have a vaccination certificate and a negative result of a PCR test of at least 48 hours from the date of entry to the national territory.

Before arriving in Morocco, tourists coming from List B must obtain an exceptional travel authorization. Upon arrival, they must present a negative PCR test dated within 48 hours of the date of entry into the national territory and undergo a mandatory 10-day isolation.

How to ensure a safe visit

Morocco has had the benefit of a stable health situation in their country and has seen a low amount of critical COVID-19 cases. In order to assist in the continuation of this, Morocco has adopted the policy of the WHO and ensures the application of those health measures across the country. It is advisable that tourists follow the current WHO recommendations when traveling to Morocco.
