This tour will help you uncover a country rich in history and tradition. Join us as we explore the coastal, imperial, and desert landscapes of Morocco using them as a catalyst to discuss the art, culture, history, architecture, the backbone of the Moroccan society.

Enjoy the combination of new and old cultures and architectures while exploring Casablanca. Take a step back in time through the exploration of Roman ruins and past imperial cities of Meknes, Fes, and Rabat. Find peace in the vastness and stillness of the Sahara Desert when we spend a night under the stars. Experience the maddening magic of Marrakech by getting lost in their medina.

The tour is fully hosted and includes all accommodation, meals, transportation, guides, and activities, so all you need to do is enjoy the experience! This tour will be led by your host Malain McCormick in conjunction with a licensed Morocco based tour operator.

Full Itinerary

Day 1: Casablanca

Meet your group at the Casablanca airport in the morning. Visit the beautiful Hassan II Mosque, perched on the edge of the Atlantic Ocean, take a tour of the Art Deco architecture and then visit the old city for contrast. Overnight in Casablanca.

Day 2: Rabat

Enjoy breakfast at the hotel in Casablanca before setting off for the capital city of Rabat. Spend the day exploring the Chellah, Royal Palace, the Mausoleum and Hassan Tower. Overnight in Rabat.

Day 3: Volubilis - Meknes - Fes

Breakfast at the hotel before the short drive to visit the ancient Roman ruins of Volubilis, which date back to the 3 BCE and is still being excavated. Visit the imperial city of Meknes, stopping to see the Bab Mansour Gate, the old palace, and the royal stables that once housed over 1200 horses. Continue on to Fes. Overnight in Fes.

Day 4: Fes

Enjoy a guided tour of Fes, visiting the Royal Palace, strolling through the mellah, and touring the old medina, stopping at artisan workshops such as the silk weavers and the famous Fes tannery. Overnight in Fes.

Day 5: Fes - Azrou - Merzouga (Sahara)

Depart Fes to travel south to the Sahara Desert. Make stops to visit the wild monkeys outside of Azrou and to take in the stunning scenery as you cross the Atlas Mountains. Arrive in Merzouga in time to meet your camels for a trek into the luxury camp. Enjoy live music around the bonfire after dinner. Overnight in the Sahara.

Day 6: Merzouga (Sahara) - Dades Gorges - Ouarzazate

Depart camp and begin your journey west. Visit the Dades Gorges, and hike through the Rose Valley in Boumalne. Head to Ouarzazate to visit the Atlas Film Studios, where movies such as Gladiator and Jewel of the Nile were filmed. Overnight in Ourzazate.

Day 7: Ouarzazate - Ait Benhaddou - Marrakech

After breakfast in the riad, begin the journey to Marrakech, stopping at Ait Benhaddou in Ouarzazate and crossing the Atlas Mountains once more via Tichka Pass. Arrive in Marrakech in the evening. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 8: Marrakech

After a week on the road, enjoy a relaxing day in Marrakech with a visit to a hamman for a spa experience. Finish the day with a “crafternoon” with henna and caligraphy before a food tour in the Medina.

Day 9: Marrakech

Tour Marrakech with a private guide, visiting the Bahia Palace, Koutoubia Mosque, and the famous Marrakech souks. Free afternoon before a departure dinner in the Medina. Overnight in Marrakech.

Day 10: Departure Day
